Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Sulle Alhaji Confirmed for 2026 Show

The Capel Military Show is delighted to welcome Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Sulle Alhaji as one of this year’s special guest speakers.

Visitors will have the opportunity to hear Sulle share his extraordinary story of courage, resilience and leadership during talks in the Vintage & Craft Village on Saturday 18 July.

Born in Newcastle, Sulle joined the 3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment in 1978, embarking on a distinguished military career that saw him serve on operational tours in Northern Ireland, Belize, and during the Falklands War.

One of the defining moments of his service came during the Battle of Mount Longdon, one of the fiercest engagements of the Falklands conflict. Of the twelve soldiers in his section, only four survived.

Following his service with the Parachute Regiment, Sulle transferred to the Royal Army Physical Training Corps, where he continued to excel, rising through the ranks to become a Lieutenant Colonel. Alongside his military career, he became a respected mentor, leader and advocate for diversity and inclusion within the Army.

Having overcome bullying, dyslexia and significant personal adversity, Sulle now inspires audiences across the UK with talks that explore resilience, leadership, overcoming challenges and achieving success regardless of background.

His remarkable achievements include:

  • ⭐ Head of the Army Commendation for Bravery
  • ⭐ Business in the Community Best Employer for Race Award
  • ⭐ Helping the British Army win European Diversity Team of the Year
  • ⭐ Patron of Action for Race Equality
  • ⭐ Trustee of ICARUS, supporting veterans’ mental health
  • ⭐ The rare honour of having a troop named after him at the Army Training Centre Pirbright

Whether your interest is military history, leadership, personal development or hearing an inspiring first-hand account of military service, Sulle’s talks promise to be one of the highlights of this year’s show.

Join us in the Vintage & Craft Village to meet a truly inspirational veteran whose life demonstrates courage, determination and the power of perseverance.
