Yes. Concessions are classed as OAPs, students and serving military personnel. On presentation of appropriate identification, including a driving license, passport or any other photographic ID that shows date of birth or an MOD ID card, admission is £10.
Yes. A public campsite is available to all visitors to the Capel Military Show which is adjacent to the showground. For further information on camping please click here.
No. There is no reserved seating or a grandstand.

The timetable is similar with a few different shows in the Arena each day. Gates open from 09:00 to 23:59 Saturday and from 09:00 to 17:00 Sunday. On Saturday, after a brief pause in the Arena at 17:00, the party starts again with a live band playing music from the 50s through to modern day hits from 19:00 to 23:59. Food and drink will be available. There is no extra charge for the evening entertainment but you must be in possession of a day or weekend entry wristband. Donations for the entertainment are welcome and buckets will be available for your generosity towards our chosen charities.
Yes. We welcome responsible dog owners. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Bag and bin your dog's pooh. Please remember that the site and surrounding area is farmland so please keep your dog under proper control and do not enter fields with young animals, or fields where fruit or vegetables are growing unless there is a clear path. Dogs MUST NOT be left in cars for the duration of your visit. The car parks will be regularly checked and the Police will be called to break car windows if an animal is found in a locked vehicle.
Picnics are welcome; however we do offer a full complement of concessions where visitors will be able to purchase food, drinks and other refreshments.
Disabled toilets and change facilities are available onsite and will be clearly marked on all show plans.

For health and safety reasons we are unable to allow the visiting public to bring any BBQs or naked flames (including candles) on the showground.
Yes, you will be allowed access to your car throughout the day. Please make sure you wear your wristband at all times to gain re-entry to the showground.
Yes. We are a military show with re-enactors and living history participants who have firearms and weapons as part of their authentic displays. However, it is a requirement that any weapons or firearms they bring on site remain secure at all times and must comply with current UK legislation. NO BLANK ROUNDS or PYROTECHNICS may be brought on site unless pre-arranged with the organiser. The Safety team spot check the exhibitors and traders to ensure they comply with rules relating to firearms, knives and weapons over the course of the weekend.
Yes. We are an authentic military show and attract a lot of military enthusiasts including living history and re-enactors. Traders are permitted to sell knives, however, all traders attending the show must comply with Section 141A, Violent Crime Reduction Act, 2006 VCR which prohibits the sale of knives to any person under the age of 18 years. Our show operates an over 25 policy. All knives must also be displayed and/or stored in locked containers and not on general display. Our Safety team spot check traders and the exhibitors to enforce these rules over the event weekend.
No. Drones are strictly prohibited at the event. We have helicopters operating throughout the event weekend, any persons operating a drone(s) will be asked to leave the show and could face prosecution.
Yes. Our exhibitors are invited to participate in the arena. This means that at any time there may be vehicle movements in the showground, this includes cars, jeeps, trucks and tanks. They will be marshalled and restricted to a maximum of 5mph but please remain aware of your surroundings and move out of the way if you see a vehicle moving. Some of the larger vehicles have restricted viewing so it is important that you follow our marshals instructions and move when asked.

Yes. Free car parking is provided on the site for all visitors. Please note it is on grass, there is no hard standing parking available.
There is a disabled car park adjacent to the showground. Once onsite, traffic marshals will direct cars displaying blue badges to the disabled parking area. In the event that this car park reaches capacity, cars displaying disability badges will be sent to the general car parking areas. The spaces are allocated on a first come first served basis and cannot be reserved.
The show has one entrance which is located off Temple Lane. Traffic from the North will be signposted from Dorking along the A24/Horsham Road, turning left onto Temple Lane. Traffic from the South will be signposted from Horsham along the B2237 to the A24 and Wolves Hill in Capel. They will then take The St and Vicarage Lane to Temple Lane.

Whilst we do not wish to discourage anyone from visiting our show, the whole showground area of 80 acres is on grass and therefore may not be suitable for those in wheelchairs or with physical disabilities. We are always happy to discuss any specific questions or concerns visitors may have about attending and can be contacted by emailing info@capelmilitaryshow.com.

A disabled viewing area is roped off in front of the Arena. This facility is suitable for wheelchair users. Use of this area is free of charge and space is allocated on a first come-first served basis. Disabled users may be accompanied by one person/carer. Space restrictions do not permit large groups in this facility.
