Who came up with the idea of the Military Vehicle Show?
The show was born from a long-standing desire of our Chairman John Dale to marry up his love of historic military vehicles, his farm and the desire to generate support for the Military Vehicle Trust and military charities.
Our show is held in support of the fantastic Help For Heroes Charity and a number of both military and local charities.
With the help of a few dedicated and like-minded individuals, we pooled the very best of ideas from other great military shows and our own experiences to produce the Capel Military Vehicle Show. Undeterred by the cancellation of the first show in 2012 as a result of the wettest summer on record, we refocused to kick off with the 2013 show which surpassed all our expectations and produced an outstanding show.
The 2019 show was the 7th show and the first on the bigger site and each year we were growing in size and popularity. These shows are totally reliant on both the support of exhibitors and the general public alike. We pride ourselves on giving you a busy show with plenty of bang for your buck, with everything from military motorcycles through to main battle tanks and frontline helicopters, whilst retaining the small intimate feel of the show.
The period reenactors and singers assisted us in transporting you back in time and the displays of latest military vehicles and the Chinook helicopter brought you right back to the present day to help you experience the current challenges facing British Forces today.
For all that, we cannot afford to rest on our laurels, when all is said and done, our efforts are for nothing without your support. Whether you are a fellow owner and exhibitor or a member of the public, we again will cater for all ages and extend a warm and thoroughly genuine invitation to join us for what promises to be again a fantastic, fun-filled family show for 2020.
