Access
- The Capel Military Show is set entirely on grass and therefore you enter at your own risk.
- All Military Vehicles, Living History Groups and Re-enactors must be in place by 08:30 on Saturday & Sunday of the show weekend.
- The Capel Military Show is open to the public from 09:00 until approximately 17:00.
- No unauthorised moving of vehicles during the event.
- Drivers are to obey instructions from Officials and their Assistants. ALL UK Road Traffic Laws apply.
Vehicle & Living History Displays
- Please ensure your vehicle pass with your entry number is appropriately attached to your vehicle on arrival. This is also necessary for your vehicle to be judged. Participants in the without a valid vehicle pass will not be permitted entry and will be asked to park in the public car park.
- Tickets will not be issued in advance. Each participant will be issued wristbands on arrival which will allow access to and from the site.
- Participants are requested to have displays ready from 08:30. Every effort will be made to admit Military Vehicles, Living History Groups and Re-enactors as quickly as possible but, due to high volumes of traffic on the day, there may be delays of up to 30 minutes.
- Participants are to obey instructions from Officials and their Assistants at all times.
- Display areas for Military Vehicles will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
- Display areas for Living History Groups and Re-enactors will be allocated in advance; please only use the pitch which is allocated to you. If you do not do this you will be asked to move.
- All pitches are on grass.
- Camping is permitted in the Military Zone but equipment must be authentic and set-up as part of the display. Camping participants must be cleared away and ready to admit public from 08:30. Non-themed camping will be asked to move to the civilian campsite.
- If you are displaying your vehicle and camping in a tent or caravan please leave all domestic appliances to the rear, leaving your Military Vehicle clearly parked out in front, this will only enhance the overall quality of our show and your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
- Open Fires are permitted within the Living History and Re-enactment Areas but are to be supervised at all times and extinguished if left unattended or at the end of the day prior to going to bed. Anyone that does not comply will have their fires extinguished by the event safety team and will not be permitted to light another one.
- Please respect your fellow exhibitors who have requested NO CIVILIAN TENTS/CARS/VANS or CIVILIAN TENTS/CARS/VANS with camo nets in the Military Zone / Living History area.
- All tracked vehicle movement through the site must be with at least two marshals’.
- All passengers to be seated in appropriate seats, not on vehicle turrets. Under Section 1, 2 and 3 as amended by the Road Traffic Act of 1991 you could be prosecuted for driving recklessly at this type of event if it was considered you have endangered the lives of other exhibitors or members of the public.
- There are dedicated Support Vehicle parking areas on site. You are required to park any vehicle not part of your display or not on your trade stand in the appropriate parking area once you have unpacked and set up. The only exception will be disabled persons vehicles displaying a current blue badge.
- Vehicle movements are to be kept to a minimum. No vehicle movement is allowed in the trade stand area on show days between the hours of 08:30 and 17:00. There is also NO vehicle movement in the pedestrian area at any time unless part of an organised display pre-agreed with the Organiser. Only persons licensed to drive may operate vehicles. Children may not ride motorcycles, quads, etc. during the show days.
- Weapons must remain secure at all times and must comply with current UK legislation. NO BLANK ROUNDS or PYROTECHNICS may be brought on site unless pre-arranged with the organiser. ALL WEAPONS brought onto the site for display or sale must comply with UK legislation.
- Although there will be a security presence within the site, all vehicles and items are left on site at the owner’s risk. The organisers can accept no responsibility for loss of, or damage to, your vehicle or its contents. In these circumstances, we strongly recommend that you avoid leaving your vehicle completely unattended during the show.
- The show is open to the general public and they will, therefore, will be able to view your vehicle. Please do not tape/rope off your vehicle please allow people to admire your toys but keep them locked and secure.
- All participants are asked to ensure that their site and immediate area around them be free from litter and refuse. Please place your litter in the plastic bag which will be provided and take it home with you. We thank you for your co-operation in this as litter is a danger to livestock and litter removal costs the event a lot which you can greatly help reduce by taking your rubbish home.
- Gas bbq’s are allowed but only when adequate fire-fighting equipment is available. All vehicles and campers are required to carry a current working fire extinguisher.
- It is the participant’s responsibility that on arrival and setup they identify the fire points which are clearly marked around the showground.
- Generators are a nuisance to fellow exhibitors, campers and a threat to the environment, so please leave your generator at home.
- No fuel transfers are permitted on the showground or in the Arena.
- We welcome responsible dog owners. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times in all public areas. Bag and bin your dog’s pooh in the campsite and off-site. Please remember that the site and surrounding area is farmland so please keep your dog under proper control and do not enter fields with young animals, or fields where fruit or vegetables are growing unless there is a clear path.
- This event has been issued with a Premises Licence, however, the Licence has strict conditions attached relating to Noise. This means that all exhibitors and participants to the show must comply with the following noise restrictions during the show. Without the organisers permission, no gunfire, explosions, incendiaries etc. at any time during the event. Without the organisers permission, no noise-emitting military equipment, e.g. air raid sirens, blank firing weapons, pyrotechnics, etc. during the evening/night. No loud noise or music AFTER 01:00.
- The showground is a NO DRONE ZONE. Use of drones is strictly prohibited and offenders will not only be liable for prosecution, but will be asked to leave the show and banned.
Arena Events
- Your participation in the Arena demonstrations is a valuable addition to the Capel Military Show and we hope that you will take part. However, it is subject to the show schedule, good weather and ground conditions on the day and therefore may need to be cancelled at short notice.
- Maximum vehicle speed on site is 5 MPH AT ALL TIMES. Please do not drive in a manner that might endanger yourself, any passengers, marshals, event volunteers or members of the public.
- The carrying of passengers is limited to the number of seats your vehicle has. No vehicles are to have passengers carried on the outside of the vehicle. All Persons are to be carried within the confines of the vehicle.
- Please make sure you are with your vehicle at least 15 minutes before each arena demonstration is due to start. If you miss your slot, you will not be given another one.
- Before you move your vehicle, please make sure you check it over for any loose components, tools etc. which could be a danger to other vehicles.
- By agreeing to these terms and conditions you confirm that your vehicle is in a safe and roadworthy condition.
- No entry to the arena area will be permitted to search/look for ammunition spent or live.
- All Armour/Tracked or Vehicles with low driver visibility are required to have a marshaller/Safety Walker escorting them when moving across the site.
- No vehicles (other than show organised static displays) are to be driven to the bar and entertainments area or immediate vicinity.
- No vehicles are to be driven on the site unless the driver holds the correct licenses for the vehicle type and has suitable insurance in place.
- No persons are to drive vehicles or operate any machinery under the influence or alcohol or drugs.
- The public are not permitted to enter the arena unless invited.
- Any unauthorised persons in the arena will be asked to leave the show.
